Amber X. chen

I am a writer and journalist from LA’s San Gabriel Valley.

My work has appeared in The Guardian, The Nation, Smithsonian, The Daily Californian, Atmos, Grid Magazine, Los Angeles Public Press, Teen Vogue, Inside Climate News, The Philadelphia Inquirer, No Bells and more.

I am particularly interested in writing about global health, environmental health and medicine.

But also, I love writing about good pop, new music scenes and emerging artists. I also love writing about friendship, sex and love — exploring gray areas, complicated characters and messy interpersonal dynamics.

I’m currently a student at the MIT Graduate Program in Science Writing.

I am based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
